Geoffrey de Lanceau has revenge on his mind when he abducts the daughter of his sworn enemy, the man who killed his father. His intent to humiliate the woman and bend her to his will goes awry, however, when he falls for her charms. Lady Elizabeth sees through his fierce demeanor to the tortured soul beneath and determines to do everything possible to deter him from his purpose. If he succeeds, he’ll kill her father and take her land and inheritance. Can her loving caresses persuade him to release his grief and admit his feelings for her?

This classic historical romance will have you cheering for the heroine to turn her captor away from his desperate goal. The conclusion is satisfying and emotional wrenching. ( )

Boring! Although it picked up at the end, the story was too slow-paced for me. No passion between the characters, and everybody all a little too quick to forgive in the end. ( )
