Lady Friday is definitely a villain of the first order and is using Arthur's friends against him. He is also coming closer to becoming a Denizen. Can he solve his problems, find another piece of the Will, and go home for at least a visit? Stay tuned...

A boy named Arthur Penahaligon is stuck in a secondary realm called the House with the forth key. He has to find Lady Friday, defeat her and get the fifth key all after he finds the fifth part of the will. He has to stop her before she experiences all of the lives of everyone submitted to her hospital. Can he do all of this in time before midnight?

Fifth title in a seven book series. Lady Friday has an unquenchable appetite for the experiences of mortals. To feed her desire, denizens bring sleeping human victims to her so she can extract, or experience’, their lives. One of the potential victims is Arthur’s friend Leaf, and another might well be his mother. Much happens but nothing advances apart from Arthur gaining the fifth key, and of course that is no surprise.

The story is getting darker and darker - literally in this case - while Leaf follows Lady Friday to try and save her aunt, Arthur confronts a mysterious beast in the pitch dark.
The pace of the stories has become more frantic. Between Arthur's partial take over, Saturday's defence, and The Piper's bid for the rule of the House, basic functions oft eh house are breaking down as denizens lose access to transport and communication. Lady Friday is the most unnerving trustee yet. ( )

I love this series - 7 days of the week = 7 deadly sins. I assume that Lady Friday is Lust and what she lusts is the experiences of humans. Arthur is tricked into being transported by Lady Friday to a snowy barren world where he meets up with Suzy and his mate Fred ? from the previous book. Meanwhile, poor old Leaf has been taken as a hostage by Lady Friday into her inner sanctum where she drinks the experiences of humans.

Lady Friday

The Keys to the Kingdom

Book description
Arthur Penhaligon, Rightful Heir to the House and Secondary Realms beyond, has been systematically freeing the seven parts of the Will of the Architect and wresting the seven Keys to the Kingdom from the sinful Trustees. Now he must find the fifth part of the Will and claim the fifth Key. Lady Friday, mistress of the Middle House, has publicly abdicated, and is now hiding in her retreat in the Secondary Realms, fulfilling her endless longing for mortal experience. She seems willing to give up the Key to whoever reaches her Scriptorium first - but is it all just a trap? As Arthur races to assume control of the Middle House, his friend Leaf is trapped in the retreat itself, desperately trying to save her Aunt Mango from the lust of Lady Friday.

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0439436583, Mass Market Paperback)

Four of the seven Trustees have been defeated and their Keys taken, but for Arthur, the week is still getting worse. Suzy Blue and Fred Gold Numbers have been captured by the Piper, and his New Nithling army still controls most of the Great Maze. Superior Saturday is causing trouble wherever she can, including turning off all the elevators in the House and blocking the Front Door.

Amidst all this trouble, Arthur must weigh an offer from Lady Friday that is either a cunning trap for the Rightful Heir or a golden opportunity he must seize--before he's beaten to it!
