This is the updated edition of what has become the definitive introduction to the political economy of development, and development theory in political science. This is an amazing little work which cannot be praised too highly. I've been using it as a graduate text for years, and students find it a good, quick, straightforward introduction to the history of development theory and practice since World War II, and the problems each approach has had. Rapley hits the jackpot. ( )
