This is the book I wish I had when I was diagnosed. It's full of down to earth advice and interesting tips on surviving a cancer diagnosis and the treatment, what to expect and what the major side-effects of some of the drugs can be. Even years after it helped me deal with some of the lingering issues.

It also has a helpful chapter on dealing with a friend with cancer, what to say and how to cope.

Recommended for anyone whose life has been touched by this disease, which he does point out is just a word, and not a very accurate word at that. ( )
