The purpose of this book is revealed in its title. It was written to help the reader install, configure, and use the Linux operating system.

The CD packaged with the book contains a complete Lunux operating system, Redhat 4.1. The CD also contains the entire kernel sources for Linux version 2.0.28 and 2.0.29. There is also an abundant collection of on-line documentation on the CD which can be viewed in a Windows web browser. ( )
