I would add The Alchemy of Desire by Tarun J. Tejpal in Chai.
I suggest to create a Matcha category, move The Teahouse Fire to it and add Thousand Cranes by Kawabata (and Le maître de thé de Yasushi Inoue). No one has mentioned The Teahouse Fire by Ellis Avery yet. I read it and thought it very good. It's fiction, though!
As for recipe books, I can recommend New Tastes in Green Tea: A Novel Flavor For Familiar Drinks, Dishes, And Desserts by Mutsuko Tokunaga. The recipes are highly ... Had to quit Fire in the Teahouse...had trouble reading it so I thought I would listen to it and just was not interested in the characters...so went back to the library and got a YA book on tape...at least maybe I can concentrate on this one and not loose my place....so far it is good...Part of Me ... ...

There are many formal books on "japanese tea ceremony". I am currently reading a novel well steeped with it: The Teahouse Fire. Has anyone read Fire in the Teahouse yet? I have an arc by my bed.
