Each of the letters is shown in caps on a choclate background with the outline of letter, plants and animals in white. The facing page gives the dictionary definition for that letter in a central square ("A is the first letter of the alphabet. . ".). Surrounding the square are the outlines of each plant and animal shown inside the letter - about a dozen or so for each. And, because it's a needlework book, numbers are given for the embroidery threads to be used. Although they are not in color, the letters are really beautiful to look at. Note: these are the same letters that are in the Dover book, "Plant and Animal Coloring Book" by the same author. ( )
