I went through a horses phase, just like every other little girl, but never found the Thoroughbred series until my father got me this book for Christmas and of course, I had to read it. I was so enthralled with it and the emotion behind it that when I discovered the rest of the series, and that it wasn't about the rest of young Ashleigh's life, that I never picked up the rest of the series. A wonderful, and yet very sad, special edition of the Thoroughbred books. Ashleigh is cleaning when she finds her old diary from when she was a child, and the book takes the reader back to Ashleigh's past and the horrible heartache of a fatal virus sweeping through the farm. ( )
