It's only been 6 years since this book was written, but the world has changed - I just can't deal with the characters always reaching for their phones while driving! I also had the murderer figured out very quickly. But the real breaking point for me was the absurd description of blocking a knitted wool shawl, it doesn't work that way. ( )

Ehh. I think this might be my last read for this series. They always been kind of awful but I just can't take any more of Burt's errands. ( )

I don't know if I've gotten better at picking out the villain in her books, or if this one was simply a bit more obvious despite efforts to throw you off the trail. I figured out who it was early on. Still, I enjoyed the book thoroughly.

Cast On, Kill Off is the tenth book in the A Knitting Mystery series.

Time is growing near for Meagan and Marty's wedding and Kelly and Meagan have stopped by their seamstress Zoe to get final alterations made on Kelly bridesmaid dress. Kelly notices a bruise on Zoe's face and learns that Zoe's husband has once again abused her. Zoe's is convinced to stop by House of Lambspun and talk with Mime about getting in a safe house. Soon Kelly and Lisa are helping Zoe move and have a potentially violent encounter with Zoe's husband. A couple days later Zoe was scheduled to give a sewing class at a local church and for her safety, some one from the women's shelter would make sure she get to the shelter safely. Unfortunately Zoe is found in the church parking shot in the head and deceased. Of course Kelly and her friends at Homespun are sure that the husband has killed her for leaving him. So Kelly and her friends set to gather information and soon find that there might be other persons that want to see dead also. There is the seamstress that Zoe had worked for before starting her own business. The seamstress, Leann claims that Zoe had stolen a dress design and Zoe has won a contest with it. When Kelly went to Zoe's the first time she heard Zoe belittling her sister terribly. Could her sister have reached the breaking point.

All the wonderful characters from Lambspun are here to help Kelly gather information to help guide the police.

And of course all of Kelly's friends are doing what ever they can to get Kelly and Steve back to resuming their relationship. ( )
