This book by R.L. Wilson would be enjoyed by gun enthusiast as well as those who appreciate art and fine craftsmanship. Mr. Wilson has produced a copious volume of work encompassing the field of firearm history and firearms as fine art. Also included are some examples of some fine blades including tomahawks.The work is well researched, written and organized. Filled with clear vibrant photographs of many works of this art over the centuries. Starting with examples of engraving origins on swords and armor. The examples in this book are just stunning making you look forward to turning the page to see what is next yet at the same time wanting to savor all the detail of the intricate work. I consider this book an important addition to an art or weapons library. I know it will stay in mine. ( )

This book represents the very best examples of the engraver's art applied to firearms. Stunning photography and enlightening text make this one of the best resources for readers interest in firearms as art. ( )
