The book is about a shy boy named Sammy who's dog ran away. To find his dog he has to talk to people and ask them if they have seen his dog. He has to overcome his shyness if he wants to find his sog

Sammie has a hard time conversing with people. He does not like answering questions and feels uncomfortable talking to people. When sammie looses his dog, he has to overcome this fear and talk to people.

Sammy and Sparky (his dog) are best friends. Everyone tries to talk to Sammy but he doesn't respond to anyone and when his mom asks why, Sammy replies with the title of the book. Afterwards he ties Sparky to a tree while he goes in to a ice cream shop. When Sammy returns, Sparky ran away from where he was tied. Sammy started to talk to all the people he initially ignored and asked questions to track down Sparky.

This book is about a young boy that is to shy to speak to his neighbors. As he goes for a walk he sees people from his community and is again to shy to talk. When his dog goes missing he overcomes his shyness by asking his neighbors and people in his community if they have seen his lost dog.
