I'm currently reading The Best American Magazine Writing 2008 and The Wisdom of Crowds by James Surowiecki.

I'm thinking that Wisdom of Crowds might actually be one of the few books that might work as a group read for a group like this, especially since it's not exactly America-centric.

I also believe in the "wisdom of crowds" (see The Wisdom of Crowds ). And the LT crowd is a thoughtful, well read crowd so a list of books or authors on the "should read" list would be quite useful.
