Loved this atmospheric story of a student who travels to Uruguay to get permission to write the biography of a dead author. Not sure why, but the characters and the setting captivated me. ( )A careful, sweet, quietly funny book about six people and their evolving (and devolving) relationships. Omar, a Ph.D. graduate gets a grant to write the biography of a famous (dead) author but doesn't get authorization from the writer's executors (his wife, mistress and brother) so Omar travels to Uruguay to try to change their mind. The relationship between Adam and Pete is particularly lovely and Cameron allows us to like all the characters in the book. no reviews | add a review
