Imagine if you discovered mysterious patterns of scars on your body, and secret code files with your name written on them. Who do you turn to for help if you are an orphan with no friends? Nellie is a twelve year old girl with monumental troubles. An orphan who is hiding from the corrupt Interior police, she is haunted by a past that she largely does not remember. Nellie lives on her own in a tiny abandoned shack where she practices using flux, quirks in the molecular field, to step through “gates” leading to alternate realities. Hunger forces her to make trips to the city where she must avoid the police as well as the Skulls, a gang of mean, tough boys who are always trying to catch her. ( )
