This is the story of Lupita, a dysfunctional policewoman. It is also the story of Mexico, a dysfunctional country controlled by the drug cartels and corrupt officials. Just as Lupita gains salvation for herself, the author seems to hope for the same for her country. I enjoyed the inserts of info about traditional culture and lore. ( )
