Cassandra is the oldest daughter of the MacGregor clan. Forced to flee New York by the power of a rich man, the family of four find their lives forever changed in Morgan's Creek, Virginia.

If you are tired of reading books where instant attraction and automatic love then this is for you.

A historical fiction crossing the paths of Franklin and Jefferson, the writing reflects the rigidity and formality of the times.

While I do find lack of some of the traditional components of the times, I do not find them entirely implausible.

The story is remarkable slow, but filled with enough details to feel authentic. Some of the characters are rather 2-D and some brim with life. ( )
