National Burden left me somewhat disappointed compared to the other books in the series. I expected action and for Cal and company to get out of what seems like hopeless situations. Instead, there is much discussion about politics, stocks and finances, in fact, it seems like most of the scenes are at the White House.. What happened to Senator McKnight - did I miss something?

There is a confrontation between the U.S. and Russia, but I was unsure who orchestrated this as the Russian Ambassador seemed to only be a go between and that the Secretary of State was actually creating a "virtual" chessboard.

Starting book 6 in the series and hoping it is as exciting as the first four books in the series. ( )
