This DVD set includes the Heart Sutra teachings that the Dalai Lama gave at Shoreline Amphitheater, Mountain View, California, in 2001 - Masterfully translated by Geshe Thupten Jinpa. The Heart Sutra is one of Buddhism’s most important texts belonging to the Prajnaparamita, Perfection of Wisdom. This is a great resource for studying and understanding the Heart Sutra’s presentation of profound wisdom on the nature of emptiness and selflessness, a topic which is sometimes misunderstood as nihilism. The Dalai Lama’s teaching includes an overview of Buddhism, background material, and commentary on the text which is essential for attaining an unmistaken view of reality - a view that brings about true liberation from all suffering. Half of the proceeds brought in to Land of Medicine Buddha Media Lab from this DVD set will be offered to the office of the Dalai Lama.
