A really enjoyable read. I could't wait to get to the end to find out what was going to happen. ( )

A very good romance/thriller with well developed characters. Has a great plot and plenty of twists and turns. The pace of the book is steady and keeps the readers attention. Hard to put down. The ending was well done and gives the reader something to think about. I highly recommend this book to all readers who enjoy a very good suspense thriller. ( )

I have received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The story starts by depicting a relationship of an ordinary couple with one son. They seem to be very happy and have everything they can wish for. But jealousy and suspicion creep in and soon the story turns into a suspense thriller. I must admit that the plot didn't seem very plausible to me at first, but eventually the characters developed into quite interesting and strong people. What I liked most, however, are those side scenes and seemingly unimportant dialogues which prove that Carol Husa is a good writer and should continue transforming her thoughts and imagination into words. This had excellent plot and pace. The character development was good. The story explored trust in a marriage and unexpectedly turned into a exciting thriller.
I received this as a LibraryThing Member GiveAway. Thank you. ( )

Book description
A ROMANCE REKINDLED.

BUT FIRST THEY'LL PLAY WITH FIRE . . .

Quinn Woodstrum appears to have it all: a beautiful wife and son he adores, a charming colonial in the tree-lined suburbs, and a fulfilling career as a criminal profiler.

Quinn's insecurities run deep, though, and a particularly trying time both personally and professionally has them unexpectedly rising to surface level. An inaccurate assessment leads to a reckless decision--one that not only threatens to cost him all that he's acquired throughout the years, but his freedom as well. Seduced by a flirtatious, younger woman and subsequently incarcerated for attempted murder, Quinn struggles to keep his family intact while his wife Nicole pulls out every stop to prove his innocence . . . to the world and herself.

But significant hurdles arise--the most dangerous being the person who'd recognized that the opportunity to do away with Quinn Woodstrum had finally come knocking . . .
