Light hearted yet full of real insights into personalities we all know, this cozy kept me grinning and wondering "who done it ". This author is a keeper on my list. Bring on the next Kat! ( )

Book description
Is it bad if the 9-1-1 operator knows your voice by heart?

Kat’s driven away so many dates with her cooking she’s given up on men, accidentally set her kitchen on fire too many times to count, and is well-known in the ER. And now she’s gotten herself kicked out of the cooking class she was taking with her best friend and a mysterious new man in town. (Who knew culinary torches were so touchy?)
But Kat StumblingElk is determined to make a new career as a professional chef.
Her current gig as wedding planner lost its charm as soon as she started landing rich clients. The more money they had, the crazier their requests got. The current bride has Kat bribing priests and taking tango lessons on her behalf.
But Kat’s plan to change her career needs financing– and the bride’s mother is just the woman to do it, if somebody doesn’t kill her first.
When murder, mystery and a kidnapped cat enter the picture, Kat must put aside her plans for the kitchen and turn into an amateur detective.
Will things work out for Kat? Or will her next call to 9-1-1 be to save her own life?
