When I first got this book, I couldn't believe that someone would write a devotional book about that sad-sack bunch of losers, the Kansas City Royals, or that I would buy it! However, it has been a marvelous book as the author finds peace and hope and refreshment in a summer of stress by going to some ball games. Baseball is a different sport than other sports and maybe is especially open to spiritual themes - themes of community and hope. This has been a very enjoyable book and another reminder that we can find glimpses of God everywhere. And this is the Royals' year! Go Royals! ( )
