This short story focuses on Mason, a city boy who really wants to be a cowboy, and Dune, a former law enforcement officer who relies only on himself. The two share a nemesis: Silas. Silas kidnaps Mason, and Dune seems like the perfect guy to save him, but through their relationship, Mason ultimately saves Dune from himself.

Some brutal (but well-written) sex scenes and the kidnapping might be triggers for some readers. ( )
