Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 594214009X, Hardcover)Iurii Glazov (1929-1998), a Russian orientalist, signed a petition to the Russian government in 1968 known as "The Letter of Twelve" along with other recognized human rights activists: Andrei Sakharov, P. Grigirenko, P. Iakir, etc. He was expelled from his institute without any hope of getting another professional job. He emigrated in 1972 and taught in the Universities of New York, Boston, and Dalhousie University (Halifax, Canada). This book includes memoirs about him and his works: The Way to "the Narrow Gates", Narrow Gates, selected articles, and an interview with his wife Marina Glazova. The book "Narrow Gates" was first published in English in 1973.
