Book description
Brown's text presents a correlation of studies on elementary and secondary education in the U.S. school system from the late nineteenth century. It examines the utility and efficacy of different subjects of study, such as geography, history and composition. It also explains the transition from elementary to secondary school and the best ways to teach these subjects, including the allocation of time to each. The Schultz Archive includes the text in its entirety, and the quality of the scans is fairly good.
