Although the conclusion was not as strong as its beginning, it still felt like the story was properly ended. Abnett left the heroes walking out with their Golden Age glory, leaving the new generations of heroes the opportunity to fill in their shoes.
It would have been great to see what Abnett could have done with a team like Infinity Inc, or with other Golden Age characters, like Atom, Sandman, Hawkgirl, and Hourman. It is a shame that we did not get to see more of his take on these characters. Hopefully, with the relaunch of the JSA after Rebirth, Dan Abnett would be considered to take on the writing duty for the upcoming title. ( )
