... was rushed to finish it. Moving on to Wetware, dustcover description sounded interesting, especially after reading Next

Next by Chrichton focuses on human genetics. I found it in the regular fiction section of my library but I consider it Sci-Fi. Bit of a soapbox piece on the patenting of human genes but a good read.

I love the 'Trees died for this?!?!' tag! That would be appended to Next the Michael Crichton book which I don't even own any more because I had to expel it with a passion from my house the moment I finished it before I actually broke down and destroyed it (which goes against all the anti- ...

#67 "Next" by Michael Crichton This book unfolds very slowly and has many independent plot threads that were difficult to keep track of. Nonetheless, it builds and kind of steamrollers to its finish - typical Crichton but without the gratuitous 50 pages of denouement after the real climax ...

Well, having just finished Next by Michael Crichton, I must say, either I have read too many of his books, and they are becoming all too predictable; or it just wasn't his best work. Somewhat of a let down. But never fear! there are lots of fun things in my TBR pile! ;-)

I'm on Michael Crichton's Next which is an improvement over his last few offerings. The various plots are moving along well, and the science is kept at a reasonable level. Lots of social comment about where biotech is and where it might be going. Can't wait to see how the ending pans out.

Having a hard time dividing my time between Carter's The Emperor of Ocean Park and Crichton's Next. Although they are polar opposites in style and substance, I've found both very compelling. Am also in the middle of The Boy who Followed Ripley which is the 4th in the Highsmith series. It's ...

Finished The Inner Circle by T.C. Boyle and started both Next by Crichton and The Emperor of Ocean Park by Carter. Both of them have hooked me good and so I hardly know how I'll divide my time. Am still working on The Boy who Followed Ripley, too. Oy vey.

I read Next by Michael Crichton over the weekend. Couldn't put it down. I was fascinated by the tidbits of information about genes/DNA and hasd fun picking out fact from fiction. I've now started Silver on the Tree by Susan Cooper which I've been meaning to read for ages now, to ...
