This is a frightening look into what being mad, or simply being accused of being mad, could mean in the Eighteenth Century, and the peculiar relationship of madness to writers and literature. While it spends more time on detail and less on overall examination than Allan Ingram's work, this is still a worthwhile read if you're at all interested in the subjectmatter. Not a difficult read for a piece of nonfiction. ( ) no reviews | add a review
