Bought for a course and to be sold off when no longer needed - I hate his poetry. ( )

I loved Heaney's translation of "Beowulf", so why is this such a disappointment? Because there's nothing to it for the person who (a) isn't Irish, or (b) isn't Heaney. It's all so personal to him, that there's no pleasure in reading it, even in his control of the language. Yet it's an A level text; go figure. ( )
