I tried to read it several times and I'm not sure what I gleaned from my efforts. . . there are assholes at work? We have to deal with them? Read this book to find out how to identify the jerks in your life, to determine if you are one, and to get helpful hints for dealing with them in your everyday life. It is less than 200 pages, and is full of humorous anecdotes the author has collected from personal experiences. Sutton takes a look at the negative aspects of assholes in the workplace, how they affect productivity and what you can do about it. I found the book to be very down to earth. Short enough to get the info across but long enough to cover the subject. Surprisingly better than I thought it would be. Typically the kind of book that tells you things you already know and will agree to. A book largely lacking nuance, reducing human nature to categories of usefulness and quantifying everything in terms of money. Practical, easy to read guide to dealing with difficult people at work....and how to make sure you aren't one yourself! The interesting/innovative twist with this book is that it talks about the real costs of protecting "assholes" to the organization. no reviews | add a review
