I received a free e-book in exchange for a review. Here's what I posted on Amazon: A good read, but while I liked the main characters, it felt somewhat stilted. I would not really call it a thriller because it was all laid out to point directly to the next phase. The author was thorough in his description of each character, often tying in enough background to see the relevance of the character. It would have been nice to see what happened to the reporter that brings the information to Agent Cruz, since he was seemingly relevant and irrelevant at the same time. The emphasis on Agent Cruz's looks was a little too romance novel-like, but I look forward to reading more to see this new author grow and develop. ( )

Journalist Jack Darling received classified information. Marine Sergeant Aaron Hardy team is killed by a bomb. It is up to beautiful Special Agent Cruz to make the connections. Cruz instinct says take action or there will be no time for questions later. This fast-paced quick read ties all the loose ends together. The pace and tone provide a solid foundation for other books in the Aaron Hardy series. ( )

An excellent start to a new series of thrillers with a great main character. Hardy is a well developed character with many strengths, but does make mistakes (realistic character). Plenty of twists and turns with lots of action. Would highly recommend this short book. Will be reading future books to follow the adventures of Hardy. Hopefully future books will be novel length. Book description
United States Marine Corps Sergeant Aaron Hardy has spent three years leading a Special Forces team on covert missions all over the world, protecting the interests of the United States. After a recent mission in Nigeria, taking down a drug-trafficking warlord, Hardy and his team return home to the States, unaware of the danger that awaits them on American soil.

After an explosion takes the lives of his teammates, Hardy, the only survivor of the explosion, is wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for questioning. Avoiding the FBI, he sets out on a personal mission to find those responsible for the deaths of his teammates. In his search for justice, he uncovers political corruption at the highest levels of government and comes face to face with the shocking truth of his own past. He soon realizes that justice for his teammates may cost him his personal freedom, maybe even his life.
