Alexa was with a psycho for 5 years because he could give her "what she needs".....oh, and he's rich!! She broke up with Maverick to be with the psycho. Maverick could have done way better. I skimmed a lot at the end. Not sure if I will continue but I'm very intrigued with Sam and Cora. I'll have to carefully read the reviews. ( ) After the death of her brother, Alexa Harmon leaves her Ravens MC boyfriend, Maverick Rylan, in order to find a safer and more stable relationship with a man who can offer financial security for herself and her mother. With only two weeks to go before her wedding, Alexa begins to wake up to the fact that her fiance, Grant is overly controlling and abusive. When she finally decides to leave Grant and return to Maverick, Grant becomes unhinged and violently stalks Alexa. Alexa's waffling back and forth between Maverick and Grant makes her a difficult character to like, and her internal monologues are long winded and repetitive. Early in the story when Alexa has made it clear that she no longer wants a relationship with Maverick, he continues to follow her around and watch her house making him seem like a stalker. The most interesting character in the book is Alexa's mother who is a hoarder. Overall, there just isn't enough character development or story to make this book very enjoyable. Laura Kaye never disappoints! Her characters always suck me in and make me love, admire, want to be them. This is a second chance story and both the hero and heroine show how time and circumstance have allowed them to grow up. They are more mature, with a better understanding of the demands of a real relationship along with the hot spark of teenage hormones. Loved it! Laura Kaye never disappoints! Ride Rough: A Raven Riders Novel ARC Review: Ride Rough (Raven Riders) by Laura KayeLove, Honor and Protect. Maverick lives his life by those three words. The blood that flows through his veins may not be blue blood but is laced with a steel that makes him a dangerous enemy. He's a man of few words and boundaries but he gives his all to everything he does. No one can write a bad boy quite like Ms. Kaye. You want to hate him, but can't help but love him. He may not be the standard do-gooder but he loves as hard as he fights. Alexa is a weakness, he can't shake and that sets him on a course for the biggest risk of all. Ride Rough gets under the skin and leaves a mark on the heart. A dirty, sexy, thrill. no reviews | add a review
