Yes to all, I'd say. Skid Road is considered the standard history, I think, and I liked both of the others you mentioned. Have you seen the new Vanishing Seattle?

... on the places I go every day. Sadly it doesn't cover much after the turn of the 20th century. LT recommends Skid Road by M.C. Morgan, Seattle and the Demons of Ambition: A Love Story, by Fred Moody, and Speidel's own book on Doc Maynard. Are these any good?
