Olivia (Vee), is now captain of her own spaceship, an Explorer Vessel which set out seven years earlier on a deep space mission. She and her twin brother Aidan are heading alone back to Earth following the virus that wiped out the rest of the ship in its entirety three years earlier - including their parents. Nathan is part of a community heading in the opposite direction. A violent war is spreading through space so they're heading for a peaceful patch from where they will plan an uprising. But on their journey, Nathan's ship is attacked and most of the community killed. Only a few survive, thanks to Vee and Aidan, who rescue them, bringing them on board their ship. Nathan and Vee are instantly attracted to each other, and in the midst of all the dramas and hostilities of this newly occupied ship, they fall head-over-heels in love. But not everyone is happy with their relationship. Someone is sowing rumours of Nathan's infidelity, Vee's flaws, and putting the lives of everybody on board at risk.… (more)

Read for VPRC. Set in the future, Olivia and her twin brother Aidan, are the sole survivors of a virus that killed everyone onboard their space craft heading to the outer planets. They intercept a distress call from Nathan's planet that has had its illegal colony on a nearby planet destroyed by an alien race, in an inter-species feud over who owns what planet. A ship load of refugees are rescued by Olivia and taken on board, but these settlers are outlaws and Olivia & her brother clash over what to do - drop them off at a nearby planet or take them back to the authorities on planet Earth.
Then strange accidents start befalling the crew as if someone is picking them off, one-by-one.

For mature readers as Olivia and Nathan fall for each other and spend the night together - even getting married by the ship's doctor. Unfortunately, I guessed very early in the book what was happening with Aidan the twin brother - think 2001: Space Odyssey with cybernetics.
Thought the ending was very realistic. ( )
