The Reluctant Fundamentalist is one of the best books I've read this year. I thought the monologue style, difficult to use well, was extremely powerful in this narrative. Deceptively simple, but very intriguing read.

... I've read 105 from the old list and am currently reading Lady Chatterley's Lover. I recently have read and enjoyed The Reluctant Fundamentalist and The Inheritance of Loss which are of course on the new list. To my chagrin I've only read 88 from that list!

I also recently read The Reluctant fundamentalist and really enjoyed it. However, I didn't really enjoy the ending of the story - it happens too quickly and the author really doesn't explain his thought process too well.

I read The Yacoubian Building because of a LT mention. Specially, someone said it was a better book than The Reluctant Fundamentalist and that comment along sent me off to google to find a synopsis of the story. Intrigued, I bought a copy and the rest, as they say, is history!
