A Passport and rhyming text celebrate the author's adventures discovering differences as well as similarities, from "A" for the variety of animals that populate the planet to "Z" for the time zones that mark the days around the world. Genre: Informational Review: This is a wonderful informational text that used the alphabet to talk about many different parts of our world. It does a great job of having accurate and current information on each topic that was introduced with the different letters. For each letter there is a poem as well as information on a certain topic. Media: Since each picture is done by a different artist there is a wide variety of media. Some include watercolor, acrylic, pastels, and chalk. Style: This book is written in a very rhythmic way. Each letter has its own poem that flows into the next page. This makes this book a lot of fun to read aloud. There are also many alliterations, assonance, and consonance throughout the whole book. This is a great book for Geography no matter what age. I bought the book for my children and they have enjoyed reading the book and then finding the places on the globe. My teacher side sees all kinds of wonderful opportunities for the use of this book in the classroom. Many topics are covered in the informational text side of the alphabet page that could be addressed when studying Geopraphy. This book is colorful and entertainging, and I would recommend it to any teacher. no reviews | add a review
