4048 Cathedral and Crusade Studies of the Medieval Church 1050-1350 Volume I, by H. Daniel-Rops translated by John Warrington (read 21 July 2005) This is the first half of the first volume of a history of the medieval Church, written about 1928, it appears. I liked the attitude of the author (although he was not as objective as a better book would be), but like surveys often do it covers so much ground that it seemed too general. I was not enough caught up in the book to seek out and read the next volume--which I do not have, as I did this one. ( )
