This is a very quick read, a good but quick read. Great for anybody that is into vampire/supernatural type books. I believe this is part of a series but doesnt seem to be an issue on if its read in order This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. A wonderfully short and fun vampire story. I really enjoyed the imagery and wish that the book was longer. I will be keeping my eyes peeled for more of this series. This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. A fun romp with our librarian-in-trainig who also happens to be a vampire!Amber has been taking care of herself since her mother left the house and never came back. She has to move around frequently in order to not raise suspicions. She has been working on her MLS degree via different colleges' graduate programs. She hacks into school records to create her transfer information and just starts attending classes. In Seattle, she is almost captured and runs to Montreal to avoid her pursuers. Thinking she is in the clear, she sets up in another college and starts to get comfortable researching her next victim/food source. But she is found! The man who tracked her down offers her a job as an assassin. Things get interesting. A very fun first book of a planned series. Easy to read, likable main character, and fast-moving plot. There are enough lingering questions to keep me interested in the forthcoming books. This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. Amber Fang: Hunted by Arthur Slade was a fun and easy read. If you are an avid reader, then this story shouldn't take more than an afternoon. It's a nice little YA that has modern references that are not too far out there. They are relatable. I haven't read a vampire book in a while, so Arthur Slade's take on them was kind of fun to see. Amber is a very determined character with a moral code. Although for someone who says she is good at looking for little details, Amber is still very young and it shows in the way that she doesn't think through 100%. This story is just starting, and it leaves a lot of growing to do with a lot of the characters. To be honest? That's what makes this book a fantastic start. I would recommend this series, and I will try to get the next installments as they come. Belongs to SeriesAmber Fang (1) Is contained in

Amber Tyrell enjoys life's simple pleasures. A perfect evening for her includes a good book, a glass of wine and, of course, a great meal, preferably straight from the jugular. Raised to eat ethically, Amber dines only on delicious cold-blooded killers. But confirming that her chosen victims deserve to die takes time. And patience. So it's a good thing Amber is studying to be a librarian. Her extraordinary research skills help her hunt down her prey, seek out other vampires and stay on the trail of her mother, who has been missing for over two years now. But one day while Amber is stalking a rather tasty-looking murderer, things go horribly wrong. Amber has walked into a trap. The hunter becomes the hunted. Now on the run, Amber receives the perfect job offer out of the blue. Someone wants to pay her to kill (and eat) the world's worst criminals. It sounds too good to be true. Amber Fang: Hunted is the first book in this exciting new vampire series. No library descriptions found. |

AMBER FANG is witty, fun, and yet still true to being a vampire book. However, the vampire is a librarian so there are a ton of book references scattered throughout (thank for you that Mr. Slade!)
Now I'm finally on the author's email list and will take a look at what else he's written because I really love his writing style.
I look forward to reading more books in this series! ( )
