How far would you be willing to go if you were chasing freedom? When Allie Santiago, international scholar at Oregon State University, and her family are captured and labor trafficked by the same drug cartel that drove her father from Mexico, she learns the cartel thugs plan to sell her to human traffickers. Allie escapes, running a marathon through the mountains of Northern California, and collapses in the arms of Jeff Jacobs, a disgraced Olympic decathlete who wants to regain both his honor and his former glory. When Jeff's actions engage the FBI and US Marshals to protect Allie and free her family from the cartel, a war breaks out in the mountains along the Oregon-California border. Will Jeff's efforts enable the two to survive and their budding relationship to grow? Not unless he can keep Allie and her family out of the black hole known as asylum detention. And the reward he now seeks for his efforts, Allie's love, might evaporate like his dream of Olympic gold once Allie learns about Jeff's scandalous past. Chasing Freedom, a modern-day story of honor and courage, faith and love, and the importance of family. No library descriptions found. |

The series introduces us to various characters and adventures, beginning with Voice in the Wilderness followed by Voice of Freedom. The conclusion to the series is Chasing Freedom and though it says prequel it is in the sense of the story of two of the main characters. So to really get the most out of the story read them in order of Voice in the Wilderness, Voice of Freedom and then Chasing Freedom. These are very top notch novels that will keep you turning pages and you might find yourself finishing the books quickly because they are that well written!
Here, in works of fiction, the author spurs the embers of hope as his crafted characters are looking for freedom from enemies, both from within and without. There is spiritual warfare in that the two main players, Allie and Jeff, fight to hold onto their faith in the face of threats that test the mettle of their beliefs. There are people who are constantly pursuing them in order to take them out because of how Allie and Jeff revealed to authorities the nefarious activities going on near Jeff’s home.
The whole series really gets the patriotic heart of readers as well as the blood pumping while reading the dangers the characters face. It seems so real as I am sure many can relate to the test of faith, love and hope in everyday life. H. L. Wegley crafts works of adventure, danger, romance, faith, and so much more in very realistic plots and scenes.
If you love suspense, thrillers, action, adventures with faith and romance, then look no further because here are three of the best books you’ll read in awhile. I love how authors bring out their unique stories to grab the attention of readers, so I won’t compare these books to any one specific author. I will say though that when you can locate novels that entertain and leave you with hope at the end those are a treasure that is found and to be kept!
Readers will absolutely become enthralled with the Against All Enemies series! So grab some copies and gift them to friends or family. You might be surprised to see even reluctant readers not putting the books down until the very end!
