This book is dedicated to Violetta Lomidze Fadda, a Russian born artist who fled Communist persecution in the 1970's and went to Italy. She worked as a nurse and one day ran into someone who wanted to kill themself with the same consequences reported in the story. All the details about her family and birth during World War II are also true.
