This would be a great book to teach about nonfiction. It includes a Table of Contents, Index, and Glossary. I think that this book was a fun way to see nonfiction as well as to learn about volcanoes. This book goes into plates and what volcanoes really are. It also talks about the Ring of Fire and the different appearances of volcanoes. Such as shield, composite, caldera, and submarine volcanoes. I think this book could work for second grade through early third grade.

Students will be drawn to this unique graphic book. This book is beneficial because students will learn about volcanoes, what causes them to erupt, and what scientists study in volcanoes. This book would be a great support for learning about plate tectonics or introducing patterns of Earth's features (NGSS 4-ESS2-2). ( )
