One of the rare books that deals with aliens so alien that the Federation might not be able to communicate with them, this book would have been very high on my list if Deanna's "sensuality" hadn't been described in such cringey terms. The author seems to be female, so I guess I can't say it's male gazey—it truly isn't, quite. But it is on the border, and it really did strike me as an odd depiction, and I don't know, I just wish TNG's gender politics were a little less old fashioned, yknow???

    WORF THREW HIMSELF FORWARD

He slammed Technician Tarses inoto the side of the tube and was jolted away. With one easy motion, Worf grabbed Tarses. the technician let out a loud cry as he hit the floor of the tube, twisting to get out of Worf's hands.

Worf looked down at the panel. Only one more command was left before the shuttlebay doors would open and the bays would depressurize, destroying the helpless alien Sli - and Worf and Tarses as well.

"They have to die!
Tarses shouted. "They're killing us all!"
