Pastor Osteen uses Biblical principles to outline a way for the listener to better themselves. Follows the ideas outlined in his book, "Become a Better You". Although not a traditional approach, nor a conservative one, this work can be used by Christians and non-Christians alike to have a more positive attitude about life and to meet the challenges that life often has. A book that lives as close to it's promise as possible. Read it and you'll possibly come close to living your full potential. But it's all up to you. ( )

I love Joel. He is so inspiring. This book was educational and actually a little humorous. His message will open your eyes and make you evaluate EVERYTHING you do from here on out. He has a way of gently explaining things so everyone can get it. I would recommend this to anyone. ( )

Fantastically inspiring with many a-ha moments. It's the kind of book that as soon as you fininsh you go back to the beginning and start again because each new reading will reveal further inspiration and motivation. It's a book about life. ( )

Really thought provoking. Given to me during a period of sadness, this book gave me a ray of light. His approach is that you are worthy of better because you are a child of God. The book comes across with a positive message about life and goodness without being pompous or preachy. ( )

Book description

Amazon.com (ISBN 0446532754, Hardcover)

Houston televangelist Joel Osteen is well qualified to write this book, having used the seven principles he shares to achieve his own "rags-to-riches" story. At the heart of Osteen’s message is that achieving a successful, prosperous life of fulfillment can only occur when we stop worrying about the past or future to make the most of each present moment by using our God-given strengths and talents to achieve our goals. The key to doing so are the seven steps Osteen outlines: Enlarge Your Vision, Develop a Healthy Self-Image, Discover the Power of Your Thoughts and Words, Let go of the Past, Find Strength Through Adversity, Live to Give, and Choose to Be Happy. Mixing biblical teachings with his own personal experiences, Osteen explains each of these seven steps in an encouraging, optimistic manner that makes them accessible to anyone interested in principles of personal growth. Although written with a Christian slant, the seven steps Osteen shares will have value to anyone wanting to know more about practical steps of self-betterment, regardless of their denomination.--Larry Trivieri Jr.
