Book description

Amazon.com Amazon.com Review (ISBN 0805038213, Hardcover)

Old Mother Goose bears another look in this collection of favorites by acclaimed illustrator Michael Hague. Hague has taken 55 Mother Goose classics and turned them into bear-y tales! Suddenly it's "Rub-a-dub-dub, / Three bears in a tub..." and "There was a crooked bear, / And he went a crooked mile...." Illustrated throughout with bears, bears, and more bears, Teddy Bears' Mother Goose is a charming twist on a childhood standard. Kids familiar with "Little Miss Muffet," "The Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe," and "Hush-a-bye Baby" will giggle to see teddy bears in the starring roles instead. Cozy illustrations in pen, ink, watercolor, and pencil invite young readers to curl up with a favorite teddy bear or two for a read-aloud evening. Fans of Hague's many picture books, including The Velveteen Rabbit and The Wind in the Willows will be thrilled to add another title to their collection. (Ages 4 to 8) --Emilie Coulter
