This has to be the poorest effort for a Holmes pastiche that it has ever been my misfortune to come across. (and that is really saying something) Only here at all because a. It was cheap and b. because I cannot refuse anything with Holmes associations.
But I kid you not,it was a close run thing. ( )

Sherlock Holmes connection is made. Prologue is boring. Then book becomes okay. Illegitimate son of Sherlock Holmes. Worst feeling cover ever! Hate the sensation of touching it. ( )

SH's (illegitimate) son is Nero Wolfe. Auguste Lupa is a simple pun on Nero Wolfe's name. Not highly rated.
