This was a fun quick chick lit read ( )

This is a fun chick lit book that is a good summer beach quick read. I downloaded this free on my tablet and halfway through I realized I've read it before. But I enjoyed it a second time. One thing about this website is helping me keep track of what books I've already read so I don't read them again. Good thing I enjoyed this one again. I didn't mind how Charlotte was trying to heal from the damage Jeff did to her. Maybe she did it the wrong way by acting like a guy and trying not to get emotionally attached, but it was the way she needed to deal with it.

If you want a fun summer read, then pick this up. ( )

2 3/4 stars. This has kind of a Bridget Jones' Diary / Confessions of a Shopaholic sort of style, but not as well done - I didn't like the main character much, and her "wild woman in Paris" lifestyle didn't really resonate with me. I already have the 2nd book in the series though, so I might read it.. ( )

Paris. Hot neighbor who feeds you chocolate in bed after amazing sex. What's not to love?

Charlotte, the lead character, is supposed to be broke and bitter - her fiance, with whom she was supposed to move to Paris, has been cheating. She decides instead to take a page from his book, and sleep her way around Paris, blogging all the way.

She's hurt, she's wary, but she's not heartbroken; rather, resilient. I really liked the character's voice - she may make dumb mistakes, sometimes, but she's no dummy. Although she almost blows it when she returns to the States and runs into her ex at her best friend's wedding.

This was a light, fun read. If, like me, you can't get to Paris and find your own Half-Naked Hottie to feed you chocolate in bed, experiencing it vicariously through this book is the next best thing. ( )

Charlotte Summers is a young teacher teaching French with plans to move to Paris with dreams of studying at Sorbonne University. Then she finds out her fiancé is cheating on her and decides to travel to Paris on her own. Charlotte writes a blog about dating guys without any commitments. A Parisian magazine hires her to write an article on her Parisian dating adventures. I really enjoyed reading this funny contemporary romance novel.
