A teenage boy helps direct souls in the afterlife to soul society where they can live peacefully. Only Hollows (corrupted souls) get in the way and even harm innocent souls. Ichigo relies on friends and family to fight for what is right. ( )A very sad book when Ichigo finds out who really killed his mom,the grand fisher.Ichigo fights him and manages to not only to live, but he also wounded the grand fisher. The best volume of Bleach thus far!* Volume 3 offers up some Kubo-patented laughs with Orihime ("Future Orihime" is one of the best bits Kubo's come up with) and Isshin, Ichigo's dad, and his array of whistles. But the volumes shines in its emotional weight as it recounts the death of Ichigo's mother as Ichigo fights against the Hollow that killed her. The fight between Ichigo and Grand Fisher is exciting and brisk, with clever turns and Ichigo finally getting a grip on being a Soul Reaper. The art is detailed and superb as characters are feeling nicely rendered and finalized in their appearances. The writing has been honed to a fine point, and the volume, as a result, is a wonderful balance of the sad and the funny. This is quintessential Bleach. *Review written with 19 published volumes no reviews | add a review
