Apart from the Nebula, it was nominated for many other awards the Sturgeon and a Hugo for example. I feel vaguely surprised that it did not win everything in sight. It was I suspect to cutesy for some. The publishing world runs slow so this books contents all seem emanated from 2002. Apart from the afore mentioned Bronte's Egg, the book tended to the worthy rather than exciting with extracts and introductions taking up to much room, along with several eulogies to the late Damon Knight,he was one of the most influential and repected figures in SF. but one eulogy would have been enough. no reviews | add a review

This is not a good book if you like "hard" science fiction. I liked it for the interesting philosophical ideas and good story-telling.
There were also a number of short essays about science fiction writers, which did not particularly interest me. (
