Hoyt, Jody Lynn Nye, Michael Z. Williamson and more. The news that humanity had been dreading for ages had come true. Zombies are real. Worst of all, we created them. Don't be fooled, this is not the 5th book in the Black Tide Rising series. This series is about a terrorist engineered plague that turns 99% of all humans into mindless, cannibal zombies. The stories in this book cover the same material as the first book in the series, mainly the very start of the plague and how people react and survive. There are some big name contributors, including John Scalzi, Jody Lynn Nye, Eric Flint and John Ringo himself. The stories are all fast paced and interesting, the quality is very good and unlike a lot of short story compilations, they are all exactly on topic.
The one small complaint I would have about this is that with maybe 1 exception, as they were written a few years ago, they don't match up with our current reaction to a pandemic. I do wish it was clear that this is not a continuation of the series in terms of plot. ( )

Zombie tales, some quite good, Ringo, Flint, Nye and Hoyt; others appropriate. The exception is Scalzi which reads as if he were fulfilling an obligation. ( )

A collection of short stories based in John Ringo's zombie universe. A good fun read. ( )
