This series, unlike Smith's others, seems to get weaker as it goes. I lost interest, and it seemed to some extent as if the author did also, with everything becoming brisker and feeling very nearly rushed, and certainly not as polished as earlier books. If you're looking for engaging characters and plot, I'd stick to Smith's earlier series. Here, the book just needed a bit more in respect to time, character, and detail. ( )
