kperfetto's review

Pandora's Handbag was my introduction to the world of subversive literature. Without it, I probably would have never heard of Dennis Cooper, Kathy Acker. or Will Self. Elizabeth Young does a great job championing those writers deemed a little too far on the edge for most readers of mainstream literature.

I enjoyed Elizabeth Young's collection of articles very much - they displayed a warmth and wisdom that was particularly useful considering the often sad or controversial topics she discussed. The world of erudition has lost a star with her passing: Wikipedia entry on Elizabeth Young. ( )
